Conference to discuss waning interest in science subjects
The lack of student interest in science-based college courses is due to be discussed today at a business conference in Dublin today.
Teachers and experts from the science sector are due to attend the meeting, which has been arranged by the group Business in the Community to discuss ways to address the situation.
Interest in science subjects has been waning among students in recent years, despite the high salaries earned in the sector.
The Government and business groups have expressed concerns that this could harm Ireland's ability to attract science-based industries in the coming years.
