Cullen opens new Rathcormac/Fermoy bypass

Minister for Transport Martin Cullen has officially opened the new Rathcormac/Fermoy bypass in north Co Cork.

The project, which began just over two years ago, has been completed on budget and eight months ahead of schedule.

Motorists using the road will have to pay a toll of €1.60.

The motorway is designed to remove 17,000 heavy goods vehicles and cars out of Fermoy and Rathcormac every day.
