The deadline for closing submissions in the inquiry investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Brian Rossiter will expire on Monday.

The 14-year-old schoolboy fell into a coma while in Garda custody in Clonmel on the 10th September 2002, and died two days later at Cork University Hospital.

A post mortem examination revealed he died from head injuries.

Last year, the Minister for Justice Michael McDowell ordered a statutory inquiry into the arrest and detention of Brian Rossiter.

It is understood the report will be published over the coming months.
