UUP MEP accuses Northern secretary of political blackmail

Commenting on the Northern secretary's speech today, Ulster Unionist MEP Jim Nicholson has accused Peter Hain of political blackmail by continuing to link the future of children’s education to the political process.

“Mr Hain’s insistence on linking the educational future of our children to the political process is nothing more than a crass attempt at political blackmail. The future of our children’s education should not be used as a political football in this way. This is no way for citizens of the United Kingdom to be governed.
