Five due in court after drugs seizure
Five men are due in court in Dublin today in connection with a massive drug seizure worth half a million euro.
The gang were arrested on Thursday afternoon when gardaí swooped on a car and a truck near Rush and Lusk train station.
Eight kilos of cocaine and a large quantity of cash in euros and sterling were recovered. Gardaí estimate the seizure may have potential street value of €500,000.
The men were held under section two of the Drug Trafficking Act at Balbriggan and Lusk garda stations.
They will appear before Dublin District Court this morning.
The operation was led by detectives from the Garda National Drug Unit and supported by local gardaí from Balbriggan and members of the Garda Dog Unit.
