Two teenagers still in custody over Limerick arson attack

Gardaí in Limerick are still questioning the two teenagers arrested over the apparent arson attack that left two young children critically ill in hospital.

The two 17-year-olds were arrested on Tuesday and can be held until tomorrow evening, when they must be charged or released.

They are being questioned about the fire that engulfed a car in the Moyross area on Sunday afternoon, leaving six-year-old Millie Murray and her four-year-old brother Gavin with severe burns.

A number of youths are believed to have poured petrol into the car before setting it alight while the children were in the back seat.
