Migraines 'costing economy more than €240m a year'
Migraines could be costing the Irish economy more than €240m a year through lost productivity, according to the Migraine Association of Ireland.
The association says its research has found that almost 50% of employees missed an average of two working days in the past three months because of the condition.
The study has also found that a migraine sufferer's work performance is affected for more than 22 working days each year.
An estimated 400,000 Irish people suffer from migraines.
