SIPTU has accused a Co Sligo construction firm of exploiting almost 70 migrant workers from Poland and Lithuania.

The union claims Liam Scott Construction is paying the men just €5 an hour to work on a site in Enniscrone and is not providing them with weekly pay slips.

It says this is a blatant breach of construction industry agreements that set out minimum pay rates of between €13.48 an hour and €16.85 an hour.

The company has denied the exploitation accusation in a statement through its solicitors and says it has complied with the law at all times.
