A tearful mum of one of the two heroes missing after saving two others from drowning said her son went to their rescue as he couldn’t have lived with himself if they had died, according to the Evening Echo.

Jonathan Herlihy, aged 23, from Glanmire, and Peter O’Keeffe, aged 36, from Model Farm Road, are feared dead after rescuing two swimmers in Ownahincha yesterday afternoon.
