Gardaí appealed for information today after a man was left in a serious condition in hospital following an attack.

The man, who was in his early 20s, was discovered at the junction of Hardwick Street and Frederick Court in Dublin at 2.15am on Sunday August 20 last.

Gardaí said he was seriously injured after an incident. He was removed to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

Gardaí at Fitzgibbon Street Station said they were interested in talking to a middle-aged man and woman who spoke with the ambulance crew as the man was removed to hospital.

Investigating gardaí are also looking to speak with the person who rang Fitzgibbon Street Station at 2am on August 20 last to report the incident.

The injured man was described as between 5’7” and 5’9” in height and wearing a red and white Derry GAA jersey at the time of the incident.

Gardaí appealed to anyone who saw him in the general area of Dorset Street or the area of the incident to contact Fitzgibbon Street Station.
