Heather Clarke to be laid to rest today

The town of Portrush is expected to come to a standstill later today for the funeral of Heather Clarke, the wife of golfer Darren Clarke.

The 39-year-old, a native of the town, died of breast cancer at a hospital in London on Sunday.

Darren Clarke and his two sons, aged eight and five, will lead the mourners at today's ceremony in the Presbyterian church where the couple were married.

Many of his friends from the golfing community will also be among the congregation.

Clarke's good friend Paul McGinley has withdrawn from the USPGA Championship so he can attend the funeral.
