City councillor added to FF Galway West ticket
Fianna Fáil has chosen 32-year-old city councillor Michael Crowe to contest next year's election in Galway West.
The party announced today that he would join junior ministers Frank Fahey and Eamonn O'Cuiv.
His selection by party headquarters comes after a convention broke up in acrimony in January, when the party insisted only three candidates should run.
Five hopefuls had been interviewed by Fianna Fáil's national constituencies commission.
The choice is likely to be controversial.
He only joined the party last April after being elected to the City Council as an independent.
