27-year-old man dies in Cork stabbing
Gardaí in Cork are investigating the death of a 27-year-old man following a stabbing on the northside of the city overnight.
The victim was taken to Cork University Hospital at around 2am after he was stabbed a number of times in a house at Fairfield Square in the Faranree area.
He died from his injuries a short time later.
The house has been sealed off for technical examination and gardaí are expected to launch a murder inquiry following a post mortem examination later today.
