A Lithuanian man is being held by police in Dublin following a fatal stabbing on the northside of the city last night.

A Lithuanian man is being held by police in Dublin following a fatal stabbing on the northside of the city last night.

The 24-year-old victim - who is also from Lithuania - died in hospital after he was knifed in the chest at a house on Oak Avenue in Santry.

Garda forensic teams are still at the scene and the State Pathologist is due to carry out a post-mortem later.
