An elderly man has died after getting into difficulties while burning rubbish in Co Meath.

An elderly man has died after getting into difficulties while burning rubbish in Co Meath.

The man is believed to have been overcome by smoke after a barrel he was burning the rubbish in overturned.

The incident happened in the Simonstown area of Navan just before 5pm yesterday evening.
