Man’s body found in burning caravan

Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose body was found in a burning caravan in Castlecomer, Co Kilkenny this morning.

Firefighters were called to the scene in Deerpark at around 4.25am and found the man's body after extinguishing the blaze.

Gardaí say they are treating the death as suspicious. The dead man is understood to be from the locality.

The scene of the fire has been preserved pending technical examination, while a post mortem will also be carried out later today.
