A 26-year-old Dublin man is in a critical condition in hospital following a stabbing on the south side of the city at the weekend.

A 26-year-old Dublin man is in a critical condition in hospital following a stabbing on the south side of the city at the weekend.

The man was stabbed a number of times during a row on Cashel Road in Crumlin at around 4.30am yesterday morning.

Meanwhile, a 20-year-old man also underwent emergency surgery after he was stabbed in the chest following an argument in the Gurranebraher area of Cork just after midnight on Saturday night.

Another man was also stabbed in the St Joseph's area Mallow.

Both he and the victim of the Gurranebraher stabbing are recovering at Cork University Hospital, where their conditions are described as stable.
