Second group of Lebanon evacuees arrives back in Dublin
Another group of Irish citizens is safely back in Dublin after being evacuated from Lebanon yesterday.
The group is made up of family members of Irish Defence Forces personnel stationed in the country as part of a UN peacekeeping mission.
They were evacuated from Tyre yesterday and transport on a UN boat to Cyprus, from where they flew back to Dublin this morning.
Another group of Irish evacuees is due back in Dublin tomorrow after travelling via London, while a larger group also returned earlier this week via Damascus and Dubai.
The Department of Foreign Affairs says between 40 and 50 Irish passport-holders have chosen to stay behind in Lebanon, despite the ongoing Israeli bombardment.
