Kenny: More education needed to curb road deaths

Fine Gael leader Enda kenny has rejected calls for the resignation of the Road Safety Authority chief Gay Byrne.

Enda Kenny said it is the Government's job to respond to the spiralling number of road deaths. He said more education is needed to reduce the numbers dying on the roads.

However, like his government counterparts, Enda Kenny is putting a high degree of responsibility on individual drivers:

He said today: "We have too many serious accidents. Irrespective of the contributing cause, people die and grief is in every house in the land."
