Retail development to create 400 jobs in Kildare
Four hundred jobs are to be created in Co Kildare, with the opening today of a €45m retail development.
The Kildare Village outlet will eventually boast 53 shops, two cafés and a restaurant. Its first phase is opening today, when a third of stores and 100 jobs come on-stream.
The remainder of positions and shops are to be opened on a phased basis.
Marketing Director Maria McGovern says the outlet also hopes to boost tourism. "Part of the village offer will be exhibitions, some of them related to local events," she said.
“People have an opportunity to wander into the exhibits, enjoy those and maybe take our complimentary shuttle bus to visit the National Stud, the Japanese Gardens and the Heritage Centre.”
