Woman in hospital after tiger attack

A woman is in a stable condition in hospital after being injured by a tiger at Dublin Zoo yesterday.

The woman, who is believed to be in her late teens, was reportedly bitten by the animal after climbing a wooden fence around its enclosure.

Reports this morning said she entered the closure, walked down a path restricted to zoo staff and then pushed her hand through a wire mesh barrier in an apparent attempt to pet the tiger.
