Owners of Spanish properties may face tax debts

Owners of property in Spain may be unaware that they owe tax in that country.

Because property tax in Spain is tied to the house, and not the owner, some buyers may be saddled with the debts of the previous occupant.

Financial Services group IFG Spain said tax offenders will have their names and addresses published and be fined.
