One in 20 women may have chlamydia

There are concerns that one in 20 Irish women have chlamydia, a sexually-transmitted infection that can cause infertility.

The finding is contained in the annual report from the Well Woman Centre.

The disease, which can have few or no symptoms, is most common among women in their 20s.

The report also shows an increase in women being screened for cervical cancer.
