Baby 'critical' after car crash

A 12-month-old baby is in a critical condition today after a road crash in Co Cork.

A 12-month-old baby is in a critical condition today after a road crash in Co Cork.

Six people were taken to hospital after the collision at Ballytrasna, on the main road from Macroom to Cork, yesterday afternoon.

The condition of the other five – two adults and three children – is said to be comfortable.

Five ambulances and a medical team attended the scene.

It is understood that cars travelling in opposite directions collided.

Five of the injured were taken to Cork University Hospital.

One was taken to the Mercy Hospital in Cork city.
