Dublin City University has been ordered to pay €10,000 in compensation to a female academic who claimed she had not been appointed an associate professor because of her gender.

Dublin City University has been ordered to pay €10,000 in compensation to a female academic who claimed she had not been appointed an associate professor because of her gender.

The woman took her case to the Equality Tribunal, which has also ordered the college to promote her and backdate the appointment, as well as the salary increases she would have earned.
