Arrested Louth man has period of detention extended

One of the men arrested in connection with the discovery of a body in Dundalk has had his period of detention extended.

One of the men arrested in connection with the discovery of a body in Dundalk has had his period of detention extended.

He can now be held until half past ten tonight.

Gardai found the body of a man in his forties at a house at Woodview Terrace on the Castletown Road in Dundalk at 12.30 this morning

A post-mortem examination is getting underway at Louth County hospital on the body of the dead man.

The results of the post-mortem will determine the which direction the Garda inquiry will take.
