Thousands of people are expected to queue to pay their last respects to former Taoiseach Charles Haughey when his body is removed to Our Lady of Consolation Church in north Dublin this morning.

Members of the public will be allowed to file past the 80-year-old's open coffin between 11.30am and 4pm at the church in Donnycarney.

Five hundred dignitaries have been invited to the removal and funeral Mass, with the remaining 1,500 seats reserved for members of the public.

Large screens will also be erected outside in anticipation of large crowds of mourners.

Mr Haughey is due to be buried in Sutton tomorrow after a full State funeral led by the Taoiseach and the President.
