American Airlines plane makes emergency landing in Dublin

An American Airlines plane has made an emergency landing at Dublin airport amid fears of a fire on board.

The plane was carrying 151 passengers from London-Heathrow to JFK Airport in New York when the pilot diverted to Dublin after smelling smoke in the cockpit.

The aircraft landed safely and the passengers have been evacuated to the terminal building while technicians carry out an inspection.
