Ballymena: 11 arrested in crackdown on heroin dealers
Police in the North have arrested 10 men and woman during a crackdown on heroin dealing in the Co Antrim town of Ballymena.
The 11 were all arrested during raids in the town this morning targeting alleged street dealers.
More than 120 police officers were involved in raids on 12 locations which the PSNI says had been planned since January.
Properties in Sion Mills, Co Tyrone, and Kilrea, Co Derry, were also targeted as part of the operation.
Up to 600 heroin addicts are believed to live in Ballymena. Three have died from overdoses in the past year alone.
