Man shot dead in Raheny
A man in his 40s has died after being shot a number of times in the Raheny area of north Dublin this morning.
The man was shot just after 9am while returning to his home on Edenmore Avenue after dropping his children off at school.
He was found slumped over the wheel of his car after local residents reported hearing gunshots in the area.
The scene has been sealed off for technical examination by gardaí and a post mortem is due to be carried out on the body later today.
