Deadlocked pay talks resume today

Employers and trade unions are due to hold further talks on a new national pay deal later today after failing to break the deadlock during eight hours of discussions yesterday.

The two sides apparently made little progress during yesterday's talks, raising the prospect that the social partnership process may collapse.
