The death of a man whose body was discovered under the Shannon Bridge in Limerick City last night was being treated as suspicious by gardaí today.

The death of a man whose body was discovered under the Shannon Bridge in Limerick City last night was being treated as suspicious by gardaí today.

The man, believed to have been in his early 20s, was found shortly after 11pm at Condell Road. Gardaí said he had suffered facial and head injuries.

A post-mortem and technical examination of the area was due to be held later today.

The scene was being preserved for the Garda Technical Bureau and the State Pathologist.
