Ahern plays down union concerns about decentralisation

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has played down the possibility of unrest over decentralisation scuppering a new national pay deal.

SIPTU president Jack O'Connor warned yesterday that his union might recommend rejection of such a deal unless concerns about decentralisation are addressed.
