Survey reveals homophobia in most schools

A new survey reveals evidence of homophobic bullying in 80% of secondary schools across the country.

The DCU study finds more than 40% of teachers do not know how to deal with this form of verbal and physical abuse.

Eoin Collins of the Gay and Lesbian Equality Network (GLEN) is asking the Minister for Education to take immediate action to tackle the problem

“I think it’s really terrible that yet another generation of young people are having to experience school as torture,” he said.
