The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has told the Dáil that he is not happy with the number of accidents involving school buses in Ireland.

Mr Ahern was responding to questions from Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny following an incident in Co Meath yesterday in which a school bus burst into flames.

That fire happened just a week ahead of the first anniversary of the bus crash that killed five schoolgirls in Kentstown last year.

The Taoiseach told the Dáil today that he had asked the Minister for Transport to carry out a "full systems review" to see how the situation can be improved.
