The appointment of two Orangemen to the Parades Commission, which rules on contentious Orange parades in Northern Ireland, was challenged in the High Court in Belfast today.

A resident of the Nationalist Garvaghy Road in Portadown which has been at the centre of Drumcree parade’s dispute for the past decade, is seeking to overturn Northern Ireland Secretary Peter Hain’s appointment of the two Orangemen last November.
