Council workers to strike over 'pay gap'

Workers at Waterford City Council are to strike over claims many are being paid half what their colleagues in other local authorities earn, it was confirmed tonight.

Siptu officials revealed 135 staff would take part in the planned stoppage next Monday manning pickets at council premises across the city.
