Curtin's legal team slams 'contemptible' media coverage
Brian Curtin's legal team has slammed recent media coverage surrounding the investigation into the Circuit Court judge's alleged misbehaviour.
Judge Curtin is currently facing an inquiry by an Oireachtas committee as part of efforts by TDs and Senators to remove him from office.
The investigation follows his acquittal on child pornography charges due to a garda blunder with the warrant used to search his house several years ago.
Robert Pierse, a member of his legal team, said today that one particular article in the Sunday World at the weekend had caused distress to the judge and his family.
He claimed the article tried to paint Judge Curtin as an infamous criminal and described it as a "contemptible attack" that served no public interest.
