Baby found dead in farm outhouse
Gardaí tonight sealed off a farm shed in Co Meath after the body of a baby was discovered.
The body was found at the outhouse located about a mile from Kildalkey village near Athboy.
It is believed the baby was wrapped in blankets and may have been there for some time.
The gender of the victim is not yet known or whether it was stillborn.
Forensic detectives were tonight examining the area.
Deputy state pathologist Dr Michael Curtis is expected to arrive at the scene later tonight or early tomorrow morning.
A garda spokesman added: “A preliminary examination will be conducted at the scene and a full post mortem will then be carried out tomorrow afternoon at Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan.”
