A 17-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Dublin last night.

A 17-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Dublin last night.

A 21-year-old man was shot a number of times when he answered a knock on his door at about 11.20pm, at Cromcastle Court in Kilmore West, in Dublin 5.

The man was removed to Beaumont Hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The 17-year-old has been detained at Santry garda station.

A technical examination of the scene of the shooting is due to be carried out today.
