Murder inquiry launched after fatal stabbing in Dublin
Gardaí in Dublin have launched a murder inquiry following a fatal stabbing in the Tallaght area of the city in the early hours of this morning.
The incident happened after a row in a local pub, the Jobstown Inn, spilled out onto the street and later spread to a nearby estate.
The victim - a 22-year-old local man - suffered several stab wounds and collapsed outside a house on Swiftbrook Avenue.
He was taken to the Adelaide-Meath Hospital at around 3.30am, where he died a short time later.
The scene of the stabbing has been sealed off pending technical examination, while a post mortem will also be carried out today on the dead man's body.
No arrests have been made and detectives say it is too early to speculate on a motive for the killing.
Gardaí are appealing for information from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the Swiftbrook Avenue area between 1am and 4am.
