Gardaí in Dublin are reportedly investigating an incident in which an elderly woman suffered a broken leg after she was knocked off her bicycle by Minister John O'Donoghue.

Gardaí in Dublin are reportedly investigating an incident in which an elderly woman suffered a broken leg after she was knocked off her bicycle by Minister John O'Donoghue.

Reports this morning said the incident happened on Kildare Street, near the Dáil, at around lunchtime on Wednesday.

The woman in her 70s was reportedly cycling towards St Stephen's Green when Mr O'Donoghue knocked her over while opening the door of his ministerial car.

This morning's reports said she broke her leg in a number of places and had been on a trolley awaiting a bed at St James' Hospital since.
