Callan steel plant to close

A steel manufacturing firm has announced plans to close its factory in Co Kilkenny due to increased competition from abroad.

However, management at the Tube Rollers plant in Callan says all 16 workers at the facility will be redeployed across other operations owned by its parent company, Duggan Steel Group.
