Survey finds many gay men have attempted suicide
One-quarter of young gay men in the North have attempted suicide, according to a gay rights group based in Derry.
The Rainbow Project says its research has also found that almost two-thirds have considered killing themselves, while 30% have engaged in self-harm.
Around the same number have been diagnosed with mental illness at some stage in their lives.
The findings, which are based on interviews with 190 gay men, are due to be debated at a conference in Belfast later today.
