McDowell prepared to meet Wheelock family
Minister for Justice Michael McDowell has said he is prepared to meet the family of Terence Wheelock, but not until he receives a full report from the Garda Commissioner.
The young Dublin man died after he was found unconscious in a garda cell at Store Street.
His family staged a protest yesterday outside Leinster House.
Mr McDowell has said he is not ruling out a meeting but that it is not his function to conduct inquests into the circumstances of anyone’s death.
