Creches escaping inspection due to staff shortages

Around half of Ireland's creches and pre-schools reportedly went uninspected last year due to chronic staff shortages.

Reports this morning said an estimated 1,500 facilities were not inspected in 2005, despite state regulations saying they should be checked at least once every year.
