Police question two men over woman's killing

The death of a woman whose body was discovered in an East Belfast house yesterday was tonight being treated as murder.

Police said they were questioning two men about the killing of the woman who was in her 50s.

The body was found after police were called to the house at London Road, near Ravenhill Avenue and Woodstock Road at around 10.30am on Sunday.

Detectives, who were already treating the death as suspicious, launched a murder inquiry after receiving the results of a post mortem on the woman whose name has yet to be released.

One of those being questioned was detained soon after the woman’s body was discovered – the second earlier today.

A neighbour described the woman as a quiet person who lived with her husband and who “kept herself to herself”.
