Man dies in Dublin road accident overnight

A man in his early 20s is dead after a car crash in Dublin in the early hours of this morning.

The car collided with a wall at Ulverton Road in Dalkey at around a 3.45am.

The man's body has been taken to St Vincent's hospital but his name has not yet been released.

Meanwhile Gardai in County Laois are appealing for information after an elderly pedestrian was knocked down and killed on Main Street, Abbeyleix yesterday evening.

The 75-year-old was struck by an articulated lorry and died at the scene.
