Holohans welcome DPP appeal against manslaughter sentence
The family of Robert Holohan has welcomed the DPP's decision to appeal the four-year prison sentence handed down to the man who killed the 11-year-old in January of last year.
Twenty-one-year-old Wayne O'Donoghue was given the jail term last month after being found guilty of manslaughter.
Yesterday, the DPP lodged an appeal against the sentence just hours before the deadline for doing so expired.
The leniency of the sentence is among six separate grounds stated in the appeal.
