Donegal crash death toll rises to five

The death toll from a two-car road accident in Co Donegal in the early hours of the morning has risen to five.

The collision happened at about 4.20am on the bend of a road near Lisfannon in Buncrana.

One of the vehicles is reported to have caught fire as a result of the crash.

Two men and a woman died at the scene, while another two women died later in hospital.

One other person was injured in the accident and taken to hospital for treatment. That person's condition is not known.

It is believed that all the victims were from the North.

Post mortems are due to be carried out on the bodies in Letterkenny hospital later today.
